PDP-Math-1
This five week course (for 15 content area PDPs) is designed to provide teachers of mathematics at any grade level K-12 with a practical and thorough understanding of the Standards for Mathematical Practice as presented in the Common Core State Standards and the MA Curriculum Framework for Mathematics. Through clear explanations of the purpose and meaning of each practice, along with practical classroom vignettes, participants in this course will gain a more comprehensive understanding of what it means for students to “learn math.” When properly implemented, the content and ideas in this course are designed to improve student achievement. Each weekly module covers two of the practice standards in depth, along with allowing the educator to personalize their own learning through differentiated assignments. The course is designed to be completed at the learner’s own pace but is ultimately designed to be a five-week course.

Improve your ability with how to analyze literature, which involves inference and interpretation; how to read informational text, which conveys facts; and how to see what good writing looks like. Grammar and usage areas are included. This workshop is for ELA teachers grades 7 – 12 looking to improve ELA understandings, for special education and EL teachers, paraprofessionals, and for teachers in other subject areas.
